I don’t use the word epic very much.. but epic seems like a fitting word for the huge wedding of Ann & Aleks.
This wedding was not only about the joining of Ann & Aleks, but also a joining of two cultures, Serbian and Vietnamese. With both being equally represented throughout the day.
The day started early with a Chinese Tea ceremony at Ann’s family home. Aleks and his family then took part in their Serbian wedding festivities at their family home. It was then back to Ann’s for the ‘buying of the bride’, where the best man must haggle with the bride’s brother to come up with an acceptable amount of money for him to hand her over. 🙂
The bride was then escorted to the traditional Serbian orthodox ceremony at Woolloongabba. Following some photo fun, the reception was then held at the Tattersalls Club, with festivities flowing well into the night.
