More About Sirromet Winery

Sirromet Winery is set in the country backdrop of Mt Cotton. A rural community only a short 40 minute drive south east from Brisbane’s CBD.

Sirromet offers that much sort after country / natural vibe that many couples love. It is a very popular option for Brisbane couples that want that nice country feel, but still want it close enough to the city so that guests can travel to and get home easily. It is also close enough to be serviced by taxi and ride-sharing platforms for those guests who really want to enjoy their night.

One of the key advantages of having a Sirromet wedding is that everything is nice and contained in the one beautiful location. There is no need to leave or travel anywhere else the whole day and night. The ceremony and reception options on site are amazing, as is the plentiful photo locations throughout the estate. There are also many great areas and activities that your guests can enjoy while you and the bridal party are off enjoying the afternoon and post ceremony location photos. These include the cellar-door for some post ceremony wine tasting and lots of grassed area perfect for lawn games.

What time of Year to get married at Sirromet?

It may sound cliched, but any time of year is suitable for weddings at Sirromet.
Spring And Autumn are usually the most popular times for weddings in general and Sirromet is no exception. The Vineyard is usually at its most green and lush in Spring, and the leaves tend to stay on the vines throughout much of Summer too.
The Brisbane weather is quite mild during the winter months, so there is no real need to worry about the cold, except later in the evening, but by then you are comfortably seated at your cosy reception.

The leaves on the vines can be relatively sparse in the early winter months, but there are lots of other spots on the estate that remain perfect for photos, such as the Lavendar gardens and rolling country fields.

Sirromet Wedding Ceremony Locations

For ceremony options at Sirromet, couples can choose between three separate and unique options:

The Arbour

The Arbour is set right amongst the vineyard itself. Giving you that quintessential winery estate feel to your wedding ceremony.
The Arbour can seat 50-60 guests under cover, with more room for standing guests behind the pews.

The Laguna

The Laguna is a lovely secluded ceremony location that overlooks a natural lagoon and is surrounded by bushland. It is set some distance from the cellar-door. So it is usually advisable that older guests drive down to it rather than walk too far.
The Laguna can seat 30-40 quite comfortably under cover with a raised grassed area behind for additional standing guests.

The Amoroso

The Amoroso ceremony location is a lovely paved area under a canopy of fig trees. The Amoroso is set high with a lovely view of the rolling hills vineyards of the estate. It is also the closest ceremony location to the cellar door and reception rooms with minimal walking required for your guests.
The Amoroso can comfortable seat 80 guests under the shade of the lovely fig tree with further space for standing guests.

Wedding Photo Locations at Sirromet Winery

If you are a lover of beautiful country scenes and rolling hills, the photo location opportunities at Sirromet are nearly endless. Below are a few of my favourite locations.

The Vineyard

Sirromet is literally surrounded by acres of gorgeous vineyards. The rows of leafy green vines are one of the main features that attract couples to consider Sirromet for their wedding in the first place. So, we definitely include them in our post wedding photo location shoot. Nothing says relaxing like popping the champagne and having a glass amongst the vines.

The Lavender Garden

A relatively new feature of the estate is their beautiful lavender garden. This area is a sea of sage green and purple and always looks amazing in photos. Not to mention the lovely calming aroma of lavender that surrounds the area.

The Lagoon & Bushland

Further away from the main estate and near the Laguna ceremony area is a native bushland featuring some lovely gumtrees (You can even get lucky and spot a koala and kangaroos). There is a dirt track running through this bushland that can look amazing for intimate portrait photos too.

Country Fields

The final excellent photo location is the country fields and lane-ways out the back of the property. This location is perfect for catching the sun setting over the hills. The long grass usually catches the late afternoon light magically.

Sirromet Wedding Reception Locations

For reception options at Sirromet, couples can choose between three separate options each with a different feel:

The Barrel Hall

Perhaps the best known and most unique of the reception spaces is the Sirromet Barrel Hall. This high ceiling, brick arched space located in the basement area features walls of genuine wine barrels. It has a very unique and cosy European feel that many people love.
The Barrel Hall can usually seat 60-70 guests quite comfortably.

Restaurant Lurleen’s

Lurleen’s on the main floor of Sirromet offers a more traditional restaurant dining experience for your wedding. Gorgeous high timber beams and polished timber floors are a feature of this space, as is the views out over the estate.
Restaurant Lurleen’s is Sirromet’s largest event space and can cater for up to 300 guests.

Tuscan Terrace

Sirromet’s newest reception space is the Tuscan Terrace. This space offers a white Marquee feel to wedding receptions. The Tuscan Terrace can be opened up to catch the evening breezes and also adjoins the outdoor deck, which can be perfect for guests to mingle in a more relaxed and open environment. The other benefit of the Tuscan Terrace is that if you wish, you can have your first dance under the festoon lit fig trees.

Accommodation Options Nearby

There are a number of nearby accommodation options for your guests as well as some special places for couples to spend their very first night as husband and wife. They also make good bases for getting ready earlier in the day.
