ENGAGEMENT PHOTO LOCATIONS OUTSIDE OF BRISBANE

Looking for perfect South East QLD engagement photography locations? Here are just a few locations just outside of Brisbane that we recommend and you will LOVE!

In our previous article we looked at all of the amazing locations in Brisbane to have your engagement photo session.
Brisbane city engagement sessions make a lot of sense for many people, as the locations are easy to get to, not too far away and so don’t require as much time. Since many of our eshoot sessions are held late in the afternoon during the week, you can often do them after-work without taking too much time from your busy schedules.

But if you want something a little different and have the time spare, then I can also recommend some excellent photo locations to consider that are a little further afield.

Out of town locations can be a great way of getting a completely different look to your wedding day images. If you are having a Brisbane city wedding ceremony and reception, chances are you will not have the time to venture too far out of town on the wedding day to get those country or beach images you love. But you can get that look with your engagement images instead!

Below are just a few locations that I can recommend. I am constantly exploring and finding new areas for eshoots, so check back here regularly for updates to my favourite locations. Or if you have special spots that you love to visit and hang out at and think they would make a great addition to this list, drop me a message and I will add it to my must see list!

Gold Coast Engagement Photography locations

Everyone loves the beach and the relaxed lifestyle that the Gold Coast offers. Many couples have great memories of weekends spent down at the many Gold Coast beaches and cafes. So, it makes perfect sense to try and capture that feeling in their engagement photo session. Usually, sessions at the Gold Coast involve walking on the beach, sand between your toes and taking in the late afternoon sun. How relaxing does that sound?! 🙂

Mount Tamborine Engagement Photography

If the beach is not your scene, perhaps the green countryside of Mt Tamborine is. This is another one of my favourite places to shoot engagement sessions. There is lots of variety to the backgrounds and some secret areas that I have discovered.

If you love the rustic rural look, then Mt Tamborine is a place to consider. It is also the perfect spot if you love catching the last of the golden sun’s rays. A picture-perfect sunset is almost guaranteed from atop the mountain as well.

Sunshine Coast Engagement Photography Locations

Another popular hangout spot for couples on weekends that can also be a great engagement shoot location is the Sunshine Coast. The Sunshine coast has an array of fabulous spots to suit many people and the look they are after. From the gorgeous beaches throughout the area, the cool pine forests, spectacular Glasshouse mountain vistas to the rolling green hills of Maleny. The area has it all.

Kooroomba Lavender Farm Engagement Photography

Situated west of Brisbane, in the picturesque Scenic Rim area is the equally picturesque Kooroomba Lavender Farm. Acres of purple lavender fields and gorgeous country scenery make the perfect romantic backdrop for engagement photos. It’s almost impossible to take a non-romantic shot in such a location 😉 And it will leave your friends and family swooning over how amazing your eshoot images are.

Mt Cotton Engagement Photography

A little closer to Brisbane and only a 40-minute drive from the city is the Mt Cotton region. This area can give you that rural rustic look without having to travel too far from town. Lots of lovely trees and grassy fields are a highlight of engagement shoots here.

A few additional tips for engagement shoots outside of Brisbane

Gold Coast Engagement Photography
  • Have a few different footwear options â€“ Those gorgeous high heels may look the part, but in many of these areas you are walking on rough / sandy / grassy areas..
  • Pack a Towel / Blanket â€“ A towel is a good idea to brush off any sand, while a blanket could be used as a cool prop to sit on or wrap around the both of you.
  • Pack a jacket/jumper â€“ As you will be out in the elements for a bit longer than a typical Brisbane shoot, I suggest having a jacket or jumper on hand to pop on if needed between shots.
  • Check the weather â€“ Since you will be travelling further to these locations, we suggest staying on top of the weather forecast prior to heading out.
  • Pack your sense of adventure. – Sometimes to get the best shots in these outdoor locations you may need to hike, climb and jump. So bring your sense of fun and adventure to guarantee the best images possible!
