Spicers Hidden Vale Wedding
Spicers Hidden Vale Wedding – Carol + Steven
Spicers Hidden Vale provided the backdrop for Carol and Steven’s recent country wedding. Spicers Hidden Vale is a boutique country wedding venue in the Lockyer valley of Queensland. This 12,000 acre cattle station / luxury retreat was the perfect spot for Carol and Steven to celebrate their perfect day with close family and friends.
Both Carol and Steven had such a laid back and relaxed approach to their wedding day. I caught up with Steven first, just having a relaxing lunch with friends before things kicked off.
It was a very hot day and the countryside out there was scorched from the drought and the fires, but you could still get a sense of the unique location and attraction of Spicers Hidden Vale. Everywhere you looked you had views of rolling hills and natural bushland.
Carol’s approach to the day was also very chilled and relaxed. You could tell she was most looking forward to finally marrying her love, Steven and spending some quality time in the evening with her family and friends.
The wedding ceremony took place in the garden of the rustic estate, under a flower adorned arch, overlooking the Grandchester valley below. It really was a beautiful ceremony with lots of cute moments.
Once the formalities of the ceremony and the family photos were completed we walked around the many gorgeous locations of the Spicers Hidden Vale property. My favourite spots had to be the amazing view from the pool and the also the tree lined main entrance.
It was then back to the stable area for the amazingly beautiful outdoor reception. The smells emanating from the outdoor ovens was intoxicating and gave a clear indication of the delicious food that was to come throughout the night.
The scorching heat of the day gave way to a cooler evening, the perfect temperature for an outdoor country wedding reception under the stars. It must have been particularly inviting for even the local wildlife came by, with lots of Kangaroos, Wallabies and even a few possums paying a visit.
Once the meals were over, as luck would have it, a summer storm rolled in. Lightning filled the sky and the heavens opened up. Most Bride and Grooms would have freaked out at the thought of rain interrupting their wedding festivities. But Both Carol and Steven took it in their stride and moved the final formalities of the night (the speeches and the dancing) inside. In fact they were so happy for the rain and what it could do for the local farmers struggling through drought.. how thoughtful are these two!
