Engagement Proposal Photography Brisbane

It is that time of year. The start of a new year, and for many it is the start of their journey as an engaged couple. January and February are one of the most popular times for wedding proposals.

Planning a proposal can be a difficult task… choosing the right ring… deciding when and where to pop the question… and then keeping your cool without giving away the surprise for your partner.

As a photographer, capturing a proposal can also be one of the more challenging photography assignments. Being ready to photograph those fleeting moments that only happen once. While also blending in to the environment, remaining undetected from the soon to be surprised ‘target’.

This was all part of Laurie’s recent proposal surprise for his girlfriend Emma. He had chosen the Botanic Gardens at Mt Cootha as the location. Which was a perfect choice, as it is filled with lots of secluded magical spaces for him to choose from. We had organised for me to be near the bridge that he had chosen as the spot that he was going to pop the big question.

I pretended to be deep in thought pondering my map (photography gear hidden nearby) as they wandered by. As soon as they reached the middle of the bridge I knew what was soon to go down. So grabbed my gear and stealthily captured the gorgeous moments.

Also in on the act was Laurie and Emma’s family, who had managed to sneak into the park to congratulate the newly engagement couple and celebrate the moment with bottles of Champagne!

Congrats Laurie and Emma, thanks for having me capture such a fun and exciting event.
